Question about Grau

I opened a tin for the kittens and thought that I could smell garlic but I can't read the tin because it's all in German.

What is the Pute mit vollkornreis and does anyone know if it contains garlic?

Re: Question about Grau

That's turkey and rice. Garlic isn't listed as an ingredient although I would agree that certain favours have a slightly spicy note to them.

Re: Question about Grau

I just think that Grau stinks in general, wouldn't say it was garlic though.

I wouldn't have thought they would use it because it's pretty bad for cats and Grau is a high quality food.

I know and that's what I thought too, but I don't like to assume.

I stuck the tin in the refrigerator for now and opened a different flavour.

Re: Question about Grau

It shouldn't contain any garlic. Only turkey (meat and animal byproducts), wholegrain rice, broth, minerals.

If in doubt I would send Grau an email and clarify.

Re: Question about Grau

Knoblauch = garlic in German so hopefully anything containing garlic will say Knoblauch on the label! I can't imagine them putting it in cat food though...

I agree that Grau is one of the smellier wet foods, but our kittens lurrrrrrrve it.

Re: Question about Grau

My kittens love it too. I was mixing it in with their Whiskas when I first brought them home, because that's what the seller was feeding them, but they just ate around the Whiskas and ate all the Grau lol.

I didn't see Knoblauch anywhere on the tin, but I don't know if maybe the broth contains some? I honestly have no idea. Maybe my nose is smelling something that isn't there, but it was quite a strong smell. I've e-mailed them anyway, just to be sure.

Re: Question about Grau

One of my boys is a grau lover, it's his fav food and the other eats it so I've tried a fair few tins I haven't smelt anything like garlic, although I do think they smell a bit different to a lot of other brands.

Re: Question about Grau

I'm glad it's not just me. I was beginning to think that maybe I was a weirdo or something.

Mind you, this isn't conclusive proof that I'm not but it leaves room for doubt now.
