Cerebellar hypoplasia?
Hi, Im new to the forum and realy looking for any help, infor and advice I can get
![]() We have three cats with Cerebellar hypoplasia ( two two years olds and four year old) , Are there any specific health or behavioural probs we should be aware of with cats with CH? Other than the usual wobbles our kittys are pretty much as any other cat although one is very anxious- he doesnt wobble as much as the other two, in fact he can climb- but he is very anxious and easily startled- his CH is more evident in the fact he has difficulty controlling his head and can therefore be startled by noises etc. He has recently started spraying indoors....and does very loud meowing, to himself when out in our enclosed back garden or in the house lying relaxing- could this be a sign of anything connected to CH? ![]() |

Re: Cerebellar hypoplasia?
Hi there,
Having three cats with this condition is certainly challenging. Have they had this from birth? Sorry I've no direct experience and I've not come across anyone else on here who has a cat with HC. I doubt if the spraying ( it is spraying and not urination ) is linked to the HC-more likey stress. The fact he's making these loud noises could also indicated he's in pain and it's possible he's got a UTI. I would pop him along to the vets and have a general check up and a urine test. Let us know how you get on! |
