feeding guideline for my new kitten

i have a seven week old kitten and i'm confused on what to feed her and what not to. i give her wet food and boiled chicken 3-4 times a day and dry food is available to her all the time, but she doesn't like eating it at all so i'm a bit worried if she is under weight or not getting enough nutririons as she should be getting because shes only a baby and also i'll like to make sure of her breed, the breeder told me it's pure persian kitten

Re: feeding guideline for my new kitten

As I have said to you before there is no chance she is a pure persian, I mean, simply google persian kittens and you can see the difference, very different face and VERY long haired.

For example:

She may be part Persian, but certainly not pure Persian. 7 weeks is very young to leave the mother cat, though I am not sure of registratory bodies and guides on breeding etc in Pakistan, If I am right that you live there.

Anyway as for food. If she won't eat the dry, don't fret. Dry isnt very good in my opinion.

Wet food is very good, and I would aim for the highest meat content you can find in your country (I forget, is it Pakistan?)
Make sure it is a complete food, and she can eat as much as she wants. You do not have to keep feeding her boiled chicken, complete cat food is much better.

Re: feeding guideline for my new kitten

Is that a recent picture of her hun? If it is she may be off her food because she looks sick. Her eyes tell me this. It could be conjunctivitis or even cat flu.

First thing I would do is get her to the vet. She's not Persian, but looks more like a moggie/domestic cat.

That is the most important thing for now, worry about her food once you've had her checked out ASAP at the vets ... as in tomorrow.

She is lovely, but please take her to the vet, I agree with Aurelia that she doesn't look well in those pictures and her eyes look sticky.

i think it is the same, I believe the pictures are the same... (sorry scrap that, still a white kitten but might not be the same as the last thread...)

Edit right I've looked at pictures of the last kitten and I dont think its the same, plus last one is referred to as he, and this one is she. What has happened to your other kitten Sharmeen? It looked quite ill and underweight and needed vet attention, and you appear to have gone and got another far too young and ill kitten.

Neither of the pictures your have posted resemble persian kittens, and both are very similar in terms of colour and coat length but I do think they are different cats.

I'm really confused now. How many kittens do you have Sharmeen, and how is your other one doing, as all the cats you have posted pics of so far are too young to be away from mum and have looked very poorly.

Definitely worried now. They are different kittens.

Sharmeen I gave you some info on feeding in your previous thread about a similar kitten, which will still apply to this new cat but PLEASE take it to a vet as I dont know what happened to your last kitten, and maybe they are doing really well elsewhere, but your new kitten also needs to see a vet as really it should still be with mum.
