Can anyone recommend a food?

Pebbles is hungry a lot of the time (although he has got a bit better) he is hungry about an hour after eating, and I've taken him to the vets because he used to eat anything, but the vet said he was fine.
My Dad thinks he may have a small stomach, which could make him hungry more, and he is a very small cat. He was an accidental litter and although we say both parents we didn't know very much about them (At the time I thought it was fine to get a kitten from them but now I know its best to go to a good breeder or a rescue) so it may be a genetic problem.

He can't have dry food, so we can't leave dry food down for him during the day like we used to before, and he is fed on whiskas at the moment, but can anyone recommend a good wet food that would keep him full for longer?

Re: Can anyone recommend a food?

The higher the meat content the better it is for him all round. It will keep him fuller for longer and be better for his tummy and overall condition.

Readily available ones online that are good are Bozita, Animonda Carny and Grau without rice.

Cats are carnivores and don't need carbohydrates i.e. wheat, maize, rice. I was surprised just how many dry foods contain these unneccessary carbs. I was using JWB dry and that has loads of carbs, the flabour was White fish and rice and I didn't even realise!!

I've now swapped to Applaws dry but might by a big bag of Orijen as it works out cheaper My kitten is on Nature's Menu kitten wet food and my adult BSH is on Bozita. He's had it slowly mixed in over the last fortnight and his coat already feels so much more soft!

The 3 wet foods are available on zooplus and a few other online shops.

I'm sure someone else will input on your thread too with more information. Mix new food in slowly though to allow their gut time to adjust to a higher meat content food.

Re: Can anyone recommend a food?

Recently, a friend gave us a few pouches of cat food which contain grains (Ari is in a non-grain diet) and just a couple of hours later she was hungry again even have eaten the full pack! With the grain free food she's fine for 6-8 hours at least!!

A favourite here at home is Animonda Carny, but if your cat is used to Whiskas, maybe it's better start with Bozita because it has a similar consistency.
