[QUOTE=ErbslinTrouble;345525]Anyone used this before?? Herrmanns Organic-Menu Mixed Bulk Pack 36 x 85g at zooplus

My cat enjoys the Hermann`s fish & spinach mix, wont touch any of the others. I mix it in with the Porta 21 which she is absolutley mad about (not surpising, given the high tuna content) to make the porta 21 a bit more substantial in terms of fat content.

Sorry just realised this was a really old thread from 2008 lol! Was searching where else I could source Hermann`s other than zooplus and stumbled across this this.

Re: The Hermann Cat Food

Sukicat - zooplus has got a promotion on Hermann's cat food - 6 for the price of four. Have you found another place in the UK that sells Hermanns?

(Apparently, Hermanns doesn't add taurine to their food and porta doesn't add enough, so perhaps you might want to put some on their food)

Thanks for the info, didnt realise that Hermann`s doesnt add taurine. So that was good luck in the end that I posted on this thread! Will buy some taurine then. How much taurine should I add to her food on a daily basis?

Unfortunately no other search results for Hermann`s in the UK but Zooplus. Thanks for the tipp on the special promotion!

Re: The Hermann Cat Food

Sukicat - I add about 250mg to each of my cats' food. Most cat food already has taurine, but because it is quite expensive cat food makers don't add as much as they perhaps could. And I don't think you can overdose on taurine....

If you get the Felini Taurine from zooplus, it comes with a measuring spoon - so I use half of one a day. Because in its pure form it is irritating to their throat, you should dissolve it in a little warm (but not hot water, that destroys it), and stir it vigorously before pouring on their food.

With Herrmanns, I think you only need to add a little taurine to their meat pouches - I believe the fish one are ok.

zooplus is the only retailer in the UK? How many pouches do you use a week?

Hope that helps!
