New Kittens Not Eating Much?

This is for my mum really...we picked up our two twelve week old Bengal kittens yesterday and they've eaten (and I assume they've drunk) a little bit of food and water, they had some last night and this morning, but my mum's worried cos they haven't been eating/drinking much so is wondering whether it's a problem.
I know many kittens take time to settle in but when is it too long? And have you got any tips to try and get them to eat? They're asleep now after a day exploring and playing (all their own doing we never forced them) and my mum's panicking about them not eating.
In short, what's okay, what's not and what should we do to try and get them to eat?

PS They have been to the loo

Kate

Re: New Kittens Not Eating Much?

Its normal for cats to eat less in a brand new environment

What were they eating at the breeders, and are you feeding them the same food in your home?

My breeders told me 24 hours without eating was normal, no such luck, scoffed a tonne as soon as mine got home :P

Re: New Kittens Not Eating Much?

We fed our 2 new Russian Blues the same as what the breeder was giving them for the first few days then switched to Natural Instinct.
Have gradually brought in Grau,Animonda,Bozita, etc wet food and tbh they have scoffed like piggies in a trough since the first day lol.
No upset stomachs, plates licked clean and looking for food every 3-4 hrs.
Gonna be a right pair of fat bears methinks
Give em time to get used to new home is best.
