Re: Cat with a poorly lip
What is it with cats this week? My boy has just done this to his nose and due to where it is, I think we're in for a long slow healing process. One little bash/lick and we're back to square one!
We took him to the vets after a day, as it was getting worse.. He licks it because it's painful, which I imagine your kitty will do too.. And in doing so, he's making it worse. So they gave us antibiotics and anti-inflammatorys to dull the pain so that he won't lick it as much. Perhaps leave it a day to see if it gets worse, ours got obviously worse overnight.

Re: Cat with a poorly lip
Thanks, I will attemt to wash it for him tonight. He hasn't shown any signs of it bothering him at all - no licking that I have noticed. I prodded it a bit to see how he would react (sounds cruel I know but I wanted to see how bothered he was) and he didn't react at all, I mean he moved his head eventually but then he would have anyway if I started trying to pull his lip up!
