Oozing

Pheebs was spayed on Tuesday. When I picked her up they said there was a little bit of oozing from the wound and just to clean the area with warm salt water. I did this the first day, yesterday there was no ooze.

But I just noticed a bit of ooze this evening. It's a tiny bit of thin clear fluid with a pinkish tinge, same as on day 1. I cleaned it off, but I'm worrying. There's no swelling.

She's going to the vet for post op check in the morning, but I'm worrying slightly...

Anyone else experienced ooze?

Re: Oozing

Sorry cant be of much help, but didnt want to read and run.If there is no swelling/heat or bleeding I would imagine there is nothing wrong. If your worried you could give the vet a ring to ask for advice.Hope she's ok.

Re: Oozing

No, no swelling or heat or bleeding. She's running about like a mad thing as per usual. Will keep an eye on things for a couple of hours.

Re: Oozing

i had this with one female of mine Ezzie, she had a build up of fluid, but i could see that, if it is just a tiny bit i would not worry, you are going to have her checked out tomorrow, so only if it swells gets hot or starts to bleed would i worry,

My little girl was spayed today, she is still very doppy, but wants out so tonight she will be sleeping in her crate.
she will be back to normal tomorrow i hope .

Re: Oozing

Sounds ok to me...

Signs of problems are:

* Excessive Heat
* If the would looks more raw or inflammed
* Yellow or green 'ooze'. Clear, straw coloured or slightly pink is ok.
* Swelling on or around the wound
* If the would develops any 'holes'

Good luck at the vets

Re: Oozing

Vet said the wound looks fine, but her temp is slightly up (39 degrees). Taking her back again Monday to be on the safe side.
