Frogs

Harry just brought us our first 'present' - a live frog. The frog has been released back into the wild, but I'm just wondering, is there anything harmful to cats on their skin?

Re: Frogs

Very unlikely. I think the frog has more to worry about though.

Re: Frogs

How funny, Cassie just got "attacked" by a frog. It jumped on her

Your cat should be fine, froggy might not be so lucky unfortunately

Re: Frogs

Yes, the poor frog was obviously not happy, but there were no visible wounds so I think Harry wasn't quite sure what to do with it.

We shut H in for the night after that so hopefully froggy recovered from the shock and went home.

Re: Frogs

My parents cat caught a frog years ago and the frog screamed!!
Like the noise a rabbit would make. It was awful, poor thing.

Re: Frogs

Our neighbours cat used to catch our frogs all the time but never seemed to come to any harm (although it may expain why my Dad is not a cat lover!)

our cat Milly caught a frog in the garden a while ago - I had never heard a frog scream before and agree it was horrible. Sent my husband down the bottom of the garden to get the cat away from it.

Normal green/brown frogs are fine it is the one with the dots or other coloured skin which have the poison on their skin.

Toads I believe are poisonous to both cats and dogs.
