Blood in cat poo/faeces

Hey guys, was just cleaning up the litter tray and noticed that one of the stools has a little bit of fresh blood in it.
I have kittens that are roughly 4-5 months old who share litter trays so I'm not sure whose stool it is.

Willow got in the kitchen and licked a small bit of cheese off the floor before I could stop her. They've been home with us for 4 days since we picked them up from Battersea on Saturday. They have continued to eat the same food and nothing has changed in their diet. I thought it could be constipation but the stool the blood was in was fairly soft.

They only a week ago had their deworm and deflea at Battersea so I don't think it could be that.

I've kept the sample and will drop it to the vet to be tested I think.

But in the meantime any ideas?

Thanks

Worried mum

Re: Blood in cat poo/faeces

Two things strike me here - what are you currently feeding them/ It's possible it's colitis ( inflammation of colon ) owing to a reaction to an ingredient in the food. Soft stools and fresh blood. Grains can often be the culprit here.

If it continues I'd pop him/her along to the vet though I'd certainly look into changing the diet as well regardless of whether or not it returns. Sometimes symptoms are only intermittent.
