Vomiting Cat

Hi all

The past 2 days when I have gone to shut the coonies away at night, I have noticed that Jazzie has been sick. It isn't proper vomit as such - just fluid with foam in it. Yesterday was literally a tiny amount but today there is more. She seems perfectly healthy otherwise, no diarrhoea and is eating really well. She was in call last week but seems to have come out of it.

Just wondered if anyone had any ideas what could be causing it?

Lou

Stress? if no other ill signs... maybe stress?
Cannot remember but has anything changed that is not the norm for your cats?

Re: Vomiting Cat

I don't think she is stressed although it has been noisy here the last couple of nights with fireworks and thunder and lightning too!

I have been monitoring her to make sure she isn't coughing but she has been fine. Would a hair ball cause this if she was struggling to pass it???

Re: Vomiting Cat

Is there any yellow bile at all in it? Or is it clear and frothy only

Re: Vomiting Cat

Clear and frothy only - as I said, more of it tonight and when I cleaned it up, it was quite slimy. No food in it at all although yesterday there was literally 2 biscuits in it.

As I said, she is eating and drinking fine.

That's what I wondered...obviously I'm not with her all the time so I don't know whether she is coughing when she does it. She hasn't had trouble with furballs in the past though so not sure. It just seems strange because has never been sick before

Thanks for the advice - I am hoping that's all it is. I will keep an eye on her and as long as she seem happy, I will get some furball stuff to see if that improves it.

Re: Vomiting Cat

I think if she is fine and she is not vomitting alot and it is only a clear froth I would hope she will bring up that fur ball...
I think it is that time of year where the cats are losing their coats and with keeping themself clean and all that fur... its bound to happen that a fur ball may get stuck and make em sick...?
