RenAvast
Hi:
I have a 17 year old cat who is very ill with CRF and Diabetes. She is on Azodyl. I'm always searching for something that might help her. Came across something called RenAvast. I went so far as to order a bottle of it and then did more searching about the product. I don't think it is legitimate. Does anyone have any info. Would really appreciate it. Regards and God Bless, Joyce Here's an update. It may be too soon to tell, but I wanted other people to know what's going on. I decided to try RenAvast. Although I was skeptical, the kindness and caring of the people at RenAvast encouraged me and I started to use the product on my cat about a week ago. All I can say is that after a few days she seemed to perk up and become more alert and aware. She seems to get a tiny bit better each day. She met me at the front door last night when I came home which she hasn't done in years. She's starting to talk more (she's part Siamese), the way she used to. I plan to get a repeat blood test in about three weeks. I would recommend that anyone try this product - it might just extend your cat's life and improve the quality. Re: RenAvast
Hi Joyce and welcome!
Sorry to hear about your cat. Managing two conditions is very hard indeed.Yes, have heard of Azodyl but not the other I'm afraid. Like PP above, I'm going to direct you to another excellent source of information for owners with CRF cats. There's also a support group run by Helen the owner of the site-they'll be the best people to advise on this product. There are people there with diabetic cats as well. However, I would be very careful about using something new like this without consulting my vet. Re: RenAvast
Sorry about your puss
My 18 and a half year old has crf, but after being very ill earlier this year has stabilised. I've also come across RenAvast and was going to order some. Problem is, although they've submitted a scientific paper of sorts, all the evidence still seems to be anecdotal, albeit quite positive. I'm unsure what to do about it also, but have more or less decided to wait until it's been on the market a bit longer and see what transpires. As suggested, Tanya's crf group on Yahoo is a good one to join. Loads of people from all over and some really sound info and support. The only thing I will say is that sometimes they can be a bit overwhelming with the "give the cat this, give the cat that" approach, and as a result, I have a veritable pharmacy at home. I'm now down to Fortekor and a homeopathic treatment for her stomatitis which also helps with the stomach acid. She has Bach crab apple in her water to help with toxins. She's back eating normally again and I'm very happy with her progress. She's keeping herself hydrated with her water intake and doesn't as yet need any sub-qs. What stage is your dear puss at? Misi went from stage 1 three years ago, to stage 3 earlier this year after a cold flare-up thanks to a cortisone course for her mouth. Since then her values have come down some and although still at stage three, is at the lower rather than upper end she was before. I think RenAvast is worth keeping an eye on, but I want to see it used by a few more people not involved with the company first.

Re: RenAvast
Three of my cats were in the original clinical study for RenAvast. All three have had their creatinine and BUN go down. In addition, my one cat, who is also hyperthroid, has gained weight. The nice thing about this product is that unlike other products where you are guessing if it works...blood work does not lie. you can request copies of all blood work from the cat sin the study and see how they came up with the figure that 89.9 % of the cats had improved values of values that did not get worse. I will never take my cats off it now and I have become its number one fan. Even if I can at least keep my cats values where they are now, I know they can live for a long time. My vet has approved it and now offers it to all her CRF patients. I am here in the US so maybe it caught on faster here.

Re: RenAvast
I think, Jane, what has put people off is your marketing strategy. I've seen you pop up in so many pet fora and animal health user groups and it looks like a bit of a gimmick. The stuff on the website is quite emotive and would play on people's emotions. I think it's quite telling that no vets seem to be aware of RenAvast and that makes people suspicious. Why don't you target vets? If they were then passing all this info onto pet owners, I'm sure they wouldn't be half so skeptical. It's a shame, because I feel it's having the opposite effect to what you intend, and if the product is as good as you say, then it's a double shame.

Re: RenAvast
Hi Joyce. So sorry about your kitty. I can tell you that the product is legitimate. My cat was in the original study and he was literally at death's door when we started him on RenAvast. The vet had given up on him. Now he is doing so much better. He is a happy cat, is steadily gaining weight, his coat looks great, and his BUN and Creatinine both went down. When he was weighed recently he had gained a full pound since his last weight check. It just is what it is. There is no other possible explanation for his improvement other than RenAvast. We didn't change anything else. I am not financially tied to the company by the way. I just love cats and want this product to help as many people and their cats as possible because it definitely helped us when we really didn't have any other options. It saddens me that there are people whose cats are suffering with or dying of CRF who are not using this product due to their own or others' negativity or skepticism when they could be putting their cat on it and getting results. It baffles me but I am so happy about my cat and the countless others who I know are still alive because of this product. Best wishes to you and your cat.

Re: RenAvast
Thank you for all the responses, information and best wishes. My cat is in the last stages of renal failure. However, she seems much more comfortable, alert and content since I started her on RenAvast. I've recommended it to a friend who has started her cat on it. I'll be taking Lovey for another blood test soon. I hope that it shows some improvement.
Regards and God Bless, Joyce |

Re: RenAvast
We started our 2 cats on RenAVast for Chronic Renal Failure too about a month and a half ago and we already see improvement. Our cats seem to have more energy, seem to have less dandruff and their appetites have absolutely improved. Not sure how the blood work looks yet but we are very hopeful...we go in in a few weeks. Even if their numbers are holding we will be thrilled! I am not sure why people on other CRF groups are not open minded to new products. For my wife and I...we are THRILLED when we finally find something that gives us hope! I have tried to tell people on some of the other CRF forums but some of them are so negative. I really love this forum (and the facebook feline/canine CRF group). Thank you all for all your great words and for always being so kind! Having CRF kitties can be an emotional roller coaster. We do not always post on this forum but we love to read all the great info you all post. Thanks!!!
