Question Rogue keeps puking!

Hello you will probably remember me saying that rogue was being sick with the dry food (from gobbling his food).

Well now he is being sick from wet food aswell. He is still on the heavy side and normal.

He usually pukes in the morning, I feed him Just under a tablespoon full 3 times a day of wet now but i just cleared up the latest pile.

Went to the vets for a check up and the vet couldnt find a thing wrong with him.

Could it be hairballs? He is on smilla wet and iams dry atm.

When the smilla is gone i will be putting him on raw and dry. If it was an intolerence to the food surely he would do it everyday?

He has spells of being sick. Misses a week, then pukes once or twice a day for a week, then stops again.

What do you think? Would it be worth getting a hairball rememdy?

Btw i have never found either of my cats puking up actaul hairballs to date

Re: Rogue keeps puking!

My money would be on it being the food specifically iams. It uses lower quality cereals like wheat I believe. Try JWB, purely, applaws etc more hypoallergenic brands

Just because the vomiting is intermittent it doesn't necessarily rule out food intolerance! If you're absolutely sure it's not a case of regurgitating food due to eating too quickly like before then this is what I'd suspect. Have you noticed, for instance this happens with any particular flavour of the Smilla? If you monitor this more closely then you might see a pattern.

Failing that I would definitely take him back to the vets and explain the situation. He may well have an infection.

Edited to add: Just seen where you feed Iams as well. I agree and would cut this out first and see if things improve.

Re: Rogue keeps puking!

I think what i will do is just put him straight onto raw diet. Will buy some prize choice for a week to feed him, Supplement with taurine, fish oils *which i bought last week* And feed him some liver and chicken wings with it.

I will put him on that for couple weeks n if alls good i will buy a complete raw food.

Skunk can eat smilla and dry till thats gone and then i will put her on raw diet aswell.

Its going to be hard feeding them seperatly

I think you've made a good decision there. Some cats are intolerant to the foods they are not equipped to digest, ie, grains and carbohydrates in a lot of commercial cat food. Cats do not have the enzymes to properly digest and benefit from these foods. A raw meat diet could help. I'm very interested to see how you get on - good luck!
