Just as a side note, I have seen this sort of thing happen (and rushed a cat to the emergency vet at 2AM) due to a cat fight - every once in a while a swat to the face is very well aimed and they can get a claw to the eye/inside of the eyelid. Even so, I'd say to at least call and check in with your vet about it. They should be able to tell you if he needs to be seen or if he seems to be recovering fine on his own.
