Re: Feeding Guidelines Confusing and Animonda Carny

Thanks for that, it is helpful. I think I will do as you say and rotate foods for them. As I have not used Animonda Carny before, I wasnt aware of any issues with it. It just seemed to have a high quantity of meat, no additives etc and all for a good price? I spent days searching and reading, trying to find a comparable food for them!

I dont think there are any specific 'issues ' as such....it is just that ( as Hobbs says) it calculates at quite high in carb considering it is pretty much pure meat. For someone like me who is feeding a diabetic cat this is a matter to pay attention to....but for most people it may not be such a concern. My feeling is that it contains a fair amount of offal/liver and that is what raises the carb calculation....interestingly it does not seem to affect Paddy's blood sugars badly at all whereas most supermarket foods do even if the carb calculation is low....as they contain cheap vegetable proteins or grains.

Re: Feeding Guidelines Confusing and Animonda Carny

The Animonda Carny arrived today and the cats love it. It does have liver/offal etc in so maybe that explains the carb's like you say. We got mixed variety so they have all meats and fish, so hopefully they wont get bored. Shroe who is on Orijen looked at me when I put her tea down, as if to say 'I can smell something better' lol. So she had some Animonda with her Orijen. I am wondering if I should give them all the tinned and supplement with a bit of orijen as that contains so many good vitamins etc. If Shroe goes back to being picky and not eating enough, at least I know she can go back onto Orijen again. Poppy and Jess seem very happy with the new food.

Thanks to everyone who commented. Discussing things always helps
