Re: when do cats generally stop growing?
NEVER
I think for 'most' cats its two years, with slower maturing breeds up to 4 years... I may have just completely made that up though.

Re: when do cats generally stop growing?
I've just had a quick Google (mainly cos I've been wondering the same) and the general consensus seems to be around 2 years.
One very detailed opinion was that their skeleton is fully grown by 1 year, but their muscles keep growing (i.e. they get chunkier) up until about 2. Laura x.

![]() 5 months ago he looked like this. If he keeps up at this rate he'll be a giant in another 6 lol. He's started to grow into his tail now lol. He is a gorgeous boy though best nature in the world. Spends most of his life having his belly tickled. |

Re: when do cats generally stop growing?
When I was six years old, our cat gave birth to seven kittens on the same day as my little sister was born. One of them was born without a tongue and their mother took it into the garden and killed it. Anyway, their mother died about a week or so later after she ate some rat poison that our neighbour had tossed into our garden. So to cut a long story short we hand reared the kittens.
Not knowing what to do, my mum would feed them baby formula, which of course we had loads of because of my little sister. These kittens grew huge! We only kept two, Tom and Guinness. Guinness was the biggest and was big enough to catch baby foxes, large rabbits etc... But he didnt really get any bigger after 3 years or so, but at that time he was bigger than our adult westie, was end to end on our three seater (if you include his tail) and used to eat two of those old cans of whiskas to himself (around 800g per day by my reckoning). I have some photos somewhere, I'll have to scan them in. So your big guy has a lot more growing in him yet!

Re: when do cats generally stop growing?
he's grown in the last week. Am worrying I need to feed him less or he might get fat he's already chubby, but they get fed together with timed feeder in the day when I'm at work so can't cut down his food as he'll eat Boo's and Boo is finally starting to bulk up a bit. He was on the skinny side before. He def doesn't need less food.
