I don't tend to use the powder as I have colourpoints and its really best on white cats.

I've only bought the 8 oz bottle, as although I've got 6 persians, the lotion has a short shelf life (even when kept in the fridge).
Thanks for the info. On Toe Tufts website yes I had noticed it tell you to keep the EE in the fridge. However, on the Purrsonal Touch website you don't have to keep the EE in the fridge.

Am a bit confused - there must be 2 types of EE - one which must absolutely be kept in the fridge and the other type which you don't gave to. What the difference in the ingredients are, I really don't know.

Might be worth a phone call to Toe Tufts to get some clear answers.

Purrsonal Touch only sell the 'herbal' version which doesnt need refrigerating. It doesnt work as well as the original EE.

Yep, I get exactly the same thing. I've worked up a good trust bond with my lot though, so am able to pick the sleepy dust out of their eyes. I find this botheres them less than wetting it and then coming back to it. The PaH wipes will lift all the crud out, but if it's really, really caked in there, take the cat into the bathroom with you when you have a hot shower. The steam will soften it up nicely and it almost crumbles out if you wipe straight away.

Carly - Would have never thought of the steam from the shower softening it. It's amazing what ways and techniques you get to hear about from PF.

Re: Persian Eyes

Hah, I learned this one when my girl had a stuffy nose. They recommended popping her in a carrier while I took a shower, and as I was wiping the snot off her face afterwards, I noticed that the eye goop came away really nicely. In saying that, if I'd paid attention I'd have learned it before. Lone showers are a thing of the past with Tia around, who will warm my towels up nicely for me while I'm showering. That cat follows me everywhere! Do work on them letting you pick it out though. It's very easy once they've learned you aren't going to hurt them, and I think it's instant relief for them. My girl will occasionally come and shout at me until I clean them for her!
