Raw Food Recipes

Would anyone share the raw food recipes they use please.
The main recipes I've seen online are American and they use Mortons Lite Salt and glandular supplements, and i'm pretty sure you can't buy those over here.

Re: Raw Food Recipes

I dont use recipes as such, just basically chuck the food into the bowl or chuck the carcasses/bones down outside for the dogs

Re: Raw Food Recipes

It's not as easy with cats though. They have to have all these different things in exact proportions. It's really doing my head in trying to work it all out.

Ah, cats, LOL!! Sorry hun, I know lots about feeding raw to dogs but not cats!

I do know there is a good thread about it on here though, perhaps another cat person can direct you to it if you cant find it

Re: Raw Food Recipes

The raw food guide by Hobbs? Yes I've read it and it's very useful, but doesn't contain any recipes. I get the whole 80%, 10%, 5%, 5% part, it's just I'd feel much more confident about feeding them raw if I were to follow a recipe so I know I'm not making any mistakes or causing them harm.

Currently I've been giving them meat, heart, kidney and a scoop of Felini complete for one of their meals, but would like to try and get them onto a more balanced meal so need some good recipes.

Re: Raw Food Recipes

Well, if it helps, I dont worry too much about the ratios and %'s thing. As long as my dogs get a mix of stuff in a 6-8 week rotation, I dont worry, I have bee nfedding this way now for nearly 10 years and never had any problems.

Re: Raw Food Recipes

I just got my grinder today and it took about 20 mins to grind up one chicken wing, I'm not looking forward to doing one of your recipes which call for a kilo.

I just wanted to ask if wheat grass/barley grass/spirulina or maca powder would be any good for them? Just wondering as I've got some in the cupboard.

Re: Raw Food Recipes

If you wanted to use a teeny sprinkle of wheatgerm grass or barley grass than you most certainly can but I don't quite see the point.

But be careful with spirulina. Though it contains a whack of good minerals etc it is high in magnesium and I have found that no additional magnesium is needed in raw food that is using the correct ratios and too much mg can do more harm than good.
