Measuring taurine

I recently bought a 100g bag of taurine, thinking it would come with a measuring spoon, but it didn't...

Could someone give me a clue as to how to measure it out? I have some measuring spoons which I use for baking, but these are in ml rather than mg... and my kitchen scales don't measure in mg, only grams...

Any ideas?

Re: Measuring taurine

You could try this & see if it works...

Convert mg/(100 ml) to microgram/ml - Conversion of Measurement Units

It seems to work both ways - just pop the figure you require in the mg bit & hit convert - it'll pop up the ml equivalent.

Re: Measuring taurine

Well, two options:

1) you pm me your address again and I send you a small measuring spoon that holds 500mg that I got spare when I went to Germany last time

2) you ask me nicely to use one of those spoons and see how much that translates to using a normal teaspoon

Re: Measuring taurine

Thank you so much both of you!

Moggybaby - I almost completely failed maths at school and that calculator isn't making much sense to me. So it's suggesting I need 5,000ml? That doesn't seem right. I am absolutely hopeless with conversions - it's embarrassing. I have a literary brain and not a scientific one at all... it's 500mg of taurine I need, isn't it? Or is it mcg?

Hobbs - Aha, what you say seems to suggest 500mg rather than mcg... is that correct? I have sent you a PM with my address as I think I'd feel more comfortable having an accurate measuring spoon than trying to figure it out with teaspoons and so on - plus I would probably forget quite quickly.
