Its certainly not unfair, I imagine that he will get bored, I know for certain mine do.

As long as you make the change gradually he will be absolutely fine. Dont Natures menu only do two flavours anyway (fish and chicken?) or is that natures harvest...

If he enjoys the Natures Menu then there's no harm feeding him the adult version, that will add another 3 varieties into the mix.

Re: The best kitten food on Zooplus?

Nature's Menu is a good food but it is pretty expensive for what it is so there's no harm gradually switching to something else.

Be warned though, once you order from Zooplus you will end up with a gazillion tins of food, cupboards will be sacrificed Our cereal lives on top of the cupboards now so I could have a whole cupboard for cat food!

Re: The best kitten food on Zooplus?

I'm pretty sure he'll eat whatever. He purrs and licks our fingers when we have had a packet of crisps and he is a little piggy. We won't feed him anything not for cats though.

What treats can we give him? We have been giving him little bits of ham but is there any treats for kittens? We were told not to give any cat treats until he is 10 months old.

Re: The best kitten food on Zooplus?

Arnold's 'treats' are raw food, chicken wings, mice, chicks, rabbit ribs etc sometimes some cooked chicken. I know what all the ingredients are and they're actually good for him.

I did give him some hairball treats a while ago before my cat grass grew and I have also given him come Cosma chicken snackies (from zooplus) which are freeze dried chicken but that was when I first got him to work on play biting which isn't really an issue now. I order some of my food from Germany and they do dried chicken breast but they're not like the Cosma ones, they're kind of chewy and he loves those.

Oh, and I'm not sure about the 10 months thing, when I was looking for the hairball treats they said over 3 months.

What utter tosh, hun. Raw fed kittens can eat as much as they want. If that is 4% of their body weight than fine, it is more, than so be it. They self-regulate, so will gradually reduce how much raw they eat as they get older.

NI are one of the many people who are treating cats like small dogs when it comes to raw feeding - most certainly when it comes to raw feeding recommendations.

You probably read this here hun

Am I feeding him enough?

SimplyScott, I don't know where that person got the magic 10 months from when it comes to treats. Probably plucked that right out of the air; it certainly does make any sense.

Dom's posted some good ideas for healthy treats
