Anyone from Holland or Belgium??

Hello.

I'm looking into different wet foods for my BSH and I am thinking about ordering some German brands from a German website.

However, before I do, my OH is going on a boating holiday to Holland/Belgium next week, and I was wondering if any of the following brands are sold in supermarkets in either Holland or Belgium (obviously he'll be on a boat so can't get anything sent to him).

- Grau
- Mac's
- Granatapet.

We just want to try the little man (the cat, not OH!) on some grain free wet as he has some tummy issues and so I don't want to do a huge order.

If they sell them in supermarkets, could you let me know which ones please?

TIA

Kirsty x

Re: Anyone from Holland or Belgium??

There was a thread about Aldi's cat food (the one that is not found in UK) in here.

I hope it helps.

I live in Belgium and have never seen those makes in the supermarkets or large pet shops (Tom&Co). I now order Grau through zooplus. Good luck!

Hi! I'm in Holland and they don't sell these brands in any Dutch supermarkets or pet shops. We get them ordered in from Zooplus NL!

Sorry!

Re: Anyone from Holland or Belgium??

There is a German pet shop chain called "Fressnapf" who have been expanding on to the European market with a chain of shops called "Maxi Zoo". I believe there are some in Belgium and NL and they stock the Granatapet. Well, their online shop stocks them; whether individual shops do I don't know.

Re: Anyone from Holland or Belgium??

I've done a search for the Fressnapf stores in the Netherlands, after much searching, I've found them to be called "Jumper" in the Netherlands. I visited one of these Jumper stores near me and they don't stock Granatapet foods in the shops and apparently they vary quite a lot of what stock they carry per branch of Jumper!

So at least in the Netherlands the chances are extremely low you'll find the brands you're looking for in a shop. Perhaps Belgium might be more successful?

Re: Anyone from Holland or Belgium??

It is apparently called "Zoomart" in Belgium.

Sephie, did they have any interesting foods in your NL branch? Such as their own Real nature, which isn't half bad?

Re: Anyone from Holland or Belgium??

Hey Hobbs! No, actually it was pretty disappointing Just Whiskas and Felix and some other local brands... oh! Almo Nature and Sheba. But I'll have a look again next time for Real Nature!

They also sold some pre-packaged raw, very few, but they were also Dutch brands like Bandit and Haaksbarf. They mainly had a huge variety of dry food, and dog food.

There is Maxi Zoo here in Ireland. I got some of their cat food Real Nature (was grain free, sugar free). Ari liked some flavours, hated others.
