Kitten vomit

Our 18-19 week kitten 'Trotsky' has just been sick. It was not very much, about a dessert spoon of brown, fruity smelling foamy liquid. There were no solids in it. It took him about 10 seconds of wretching before it finally came up.

He seems absolutely fine now, running around, wanting more food etc...

Just trying to figure out what caused it and whether I should be concerned.

He had the first of his second set of jabs this morning (He's already had the leukemia one, this morning he had the first of the other ones), I also caught him eating weeds in the yard about 2 hours before he was sick, I also spotted a rather suspicious half of a slug...

Anyway, just wondering if I should be worried or not.

Re: Kitten vomit

Sounds perfectly normal to me especially since you mention the weeds and the slug!

Occasional vomiting is normal in cats and kittens but prolonged periods aren't. This is when you need to consult the vets!

Re: Kitten vomit

They tend to eat grass to clear out their tummies, it helps them be sick so they can stop feeling nautious!

Re: Kitten vomit

Well he's just had half a pouch of food, so hopefully he'll keep it down.

Normally when they eat grass or weeds there you can see it in the vomit, in this case there was nothing which is why I was worried. Called the vet and they said to keep an eye on him for 24 hours.
