Yes, he's always been a slim cat. It's not like the weight has sharply dropped in recent months which would indicate something was up. He's been this way a long time. About a year ago i'm guessing he had an eye infection and my Mam took him to the vets (Companion Care) and mentioned about his weight, the vet weighed him and had a feel of him and checked his teeth and said he was fine.

He does lick his lower belly/between his legs quite allot though, always has.

Re: Ox fat & Goose Fat

Went to Asda and couldn't find any chicken liver, so bought some lambs liver and some lambs kidney. Tylah scoffed the lot I gave him, so apart from the bones he could go on a raw diet. Is bone meal the best alternative or something else?

Heinz wouldn't eat the kidney or the liver, i even crushed up 4-5 of the Vit-Bits he likes over the top, which got him to smell it, but then i guess he realised there was stuff underneath it and went away, Tylah came down off the pouffe and ate it though.

I'm going to try Heinz on chicken breast with heart and i've bashed the kidney into pulp to see if the smell of the others will disguise it. If he doesn't eat that would giving him a breakfast of meat, heart and felini complete be OK?

---------------

I'm going to do my best at fattening Ty up. If he doesn't put on any weight say in a month, i'll take him to the vets for some tests.

Re: Ox fat & Goose Fat

My gang don't like raw kidney, I have tried it many times and it even puts them off when it is minced into a mix.
They do however love it lightly sauteed...ok, not 100% raw, but a good compromise I feel. I just cook it enough to brown the outside so it is still raw in the middle and feed it as it is.

Sainsburys sometimes do chicken livers. Tescos have frozen.

Re: Ox fat & Goose Fat

So today i just gave them their first raw mix. They each had 1/2 a chicken breast, 1 heaped teaspoon of heart and 1/2 a teaspoon of kidney. They ate the lot. YAY!

So next is to try them with the supplements added, and to then see if i can get Heinz to eat the liver if it's bashed to a pulp like the kidney was, if it's only 1/2 a teaspoon they need then I'm sure he'll never notice it's there.

Here's what they ate for second breakfast. If they keep this up, i may get fatties after all.
