I just wanted to send this quick message to thank all of you kind people for taking the time to offer me advice. Shortly after I posted my last message he was sick again - in front of me this time - and I hooked out a worm from the watery mess.

I've had cats all my life but this is the first time using this new medicine for me and the first time one of them has been infected like this, so it's a worry. We decided that this was not something we could just let slide so we had the vet take a look at him straight away. He's been given a full check-up, injected full of goodies and both him and his sister (just to be safe) have been treated again; I also have some more medicine to give him through the next week to get him back to his naughty old self. It's best not to take risks when they're so young, isn't it?
