The grab or avoid game

I thought it would be educational *esp for me* if we did a grab or avoid game.

Can be anything you want it to be. BRANDS of cat litter, litter trays, food, types of wormers, flea treatments, toys, shampoos , scratching posts and kittie treats etc

Every product has a good and bad version being sold. So one person says the product. You reply grab or avoid and your reasons behind it.

Ok sooo i will pick subject flea collars. Grab or avoid?

Re: The grab or avoid game

Avoid (as stated on your other flea collar thread on cat chat):

Reasons:

Unnecessary: Flea treat your cats and you dont need a collar to get rid.

Dangerous: Cat collars can get caught and strangle them, they are possibly unsafe so why have an unsafe way of doing something when you can spot on treat without the dangers.

I have also seen someone post on another thread that the collars simply make the fleas gather on the collar.

My cats is naked and they is staying that way!

Some cats aren't interested in catnip. Biffy ate some catnip treats but he didn't go wild or react to a toy that had catnip in it.

Re: The grab or avoid game

I opened a bag of catnip the other day and Monty nearly took my hand off.

His face looked something like this:

Dinah's face was something like this:

Proving the fact that it affects some cats and not others!

It's meant to be to get them excited and interested in stuff, I think? You can sprinkle it on favourite toys or scratching posts to encourage use. I put a little on the base of the scratching post and Monty rolled around all over it.

As for brands of it, I just got the "Katzenminze" or whatever it's called from ZooPlus. Not convinced my two really need it though... they're excitable enough as it is!

Ummm I'll go for... water fountains!

Re: The grab or avoid game

Our kittens have a water fountain (this one: Catit Fresh Clear Small Drinking Fountain - it's on offer at the moment!) and it's great. Really compact, sits neatly in a corner, easy to fill, and they seem to love it. It took Monty a couple of days to get used to it but Dinah used it straight away. She spends a LOT more time at the fountain than she does at the water bowl.
