Re: Unexplained bleeding
Check their claws maybe. When I have had unexplained blood its been claws being torn, with both cats and buns. not exactly a splatter but it can be quite a bit where they tore it..,

Re: Unexplained bleeding
Thanks GM. I rechecked them all: all claws present and accounted for and no sensitivity. Phoned the vet this morning. She suggested it may very well be a nosebleed. Apparently quite common at this time of the year (we have very dry cold winters). The very dry air dries out their mucous membranes and then any sneeze can result in a nosebleed. If it happens again, I can bring him in. She also suggested I buy a humidifier for the house.
I feel a bit foolish now, but I got such a fright, especially since I had had a bad nightmare about my cats the night before. . |

No, it really looked like a nosebleed..you know, a splatter of fine drops. There was no other material in the splatter. In any case, I am watching all of them like a hawk. |
