Exclamation Allergies - Bayley's eye problem

For some time now Mr B has had crusty/runny eyes on & off with very bloodshot/pink whites to his eyes. The vet has tried antibiotic eye drops x2 and taken swabs of his eyes (which came back negative). She has now said she thinks it's allergies and prescribed steroid eye drops.

However, it seems odd because Bayley's eyes completely cleared up during the 2 weeks he stayed with my mum and dad. This is strange because they have much more for him to be allergic to - carpets throughout, a big garden so more pollen could come in (I have no garden & Bayley's an indoor cat) etc etc. Whilst he's there he has the same food, litter, treats, gets brushed every day like at home...

Someone suggested he could be allergic to my washing powder (which is not the same as mum's) as he is a very 'cuddly' cat...is this possible?

Or does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanx from me & Mr B (if he doesn't have to have eye drops anymore he'll be so happy!)

Laura x

Re: Allergies - Bayley's eye problem

Gosh, hun, the most infuriating thing with allergies, particularly environmental allergies, is to find out what it is that he is reacting to. Could well be your washing powder (so perhaps change to the one that your parents are using as he was ok when he was with them). Do you use air freshener? Could be a cleaning product you use or it could be a tree/bush/grass that is outside your house but not near your parents.
