Question Vomiting again from biscuits

Ok now my boy cat is vomiting from the biscuits again.

It doesnt seem to matter what brand i try it makes him sick.

Going to try baking some treats. Flour, tuna and water and see if this makes him sick. If he is then he is wheat intolerant.

But if this was the case then wouldnt the tinned be making him sick aswell?

Reasons to bake my own cat biscuits is sounding more and more like a good idea really

Re: Vomiting again from biscuits

One of the reasons I don't wean kittens on to dry food is because some of them bring it all back up straight after eating. I don't know if this is because they eat it to quickly or because it swells once in their stomachs but I now do not give dry to young kittens - under ten weeks - I introduce a little once they are older as I know that many new owners will be feeding dry.
I have had the same problem in an older cat but he was not sick every time and I couldn't find a definite cause other than I think he sometimes ate too quickly.
It could be a wheat intolerance in your cat - I'm not sure that there would be wheat in wet foods. Hobbs will know the answer to that I'm sure.
Good luck in baking your own biscuits for him

Have you tried soaking the biscuits in water first? Sometimes if they eat biscuits too fast then they can swell up inside them and make them throw them back up.

Re: Vomiting again from biscuits

Cats shouldn't really be given wheat. Apart from loads of them being intolerant, it's an unnecessary carbohydrate in their diet that they have no need for and are not physiologically set up to be able to digest with ease. Think about it, if cats were made to eat grain, they wouldn't have been employed to keep mice away from it

Sorry to say, but tuna's not the best thing to feed a cat either. What else do you feed him?

Re: Vomiting again from biscuits

Well um i tried soaking before and he wouldnt touch them with a barge pole. Hated them.

I saw a girl on the net making them with flour and tuna. I just wanted to use those ingredients to see if i could actually make them rofl not really to feed long term.

Im feeding go cat biscuits with wet food and also raw meat from pet shop. The frozen natures menu i think it is?

I tried them on a dead chick but they just threw it all around the room. And didnt eat it. So we just had chick guts to clean up after them . ew

So im thinking of baking some cat biscuits. With brown rice flour instead, raw meat (rabbit, chicken, turkey, liver etc) all the frozen ground stuff. Adding taurine and egg shell powder for biscuits and feeding them frozen raw meet aswell. Anything chunky they refuse to eat.

That is what i want to be feeding them!

Re: Vomiting again from biscuits

Plus i havent got a meat grinder for bones so i cant really feed a complete raw diet.

Can cats get a complete diet from ground meats? Plus added egg shell and taurine? Im thinking no???

So i need to provide something else

Re: Vomiting again from biscuits

Have you looked at raw from Natural Instinct or Darlings? It's much better than the one available in pet shops (Nature's Menu?) being specifically formulated for cats.
There is a lot of information here on raw diets if you are thinking of making up the food yourself Thinking about raw feeding - a basic guide

Cats will crunch down bones just like dogs.
