I don't know where to go from here, re food

I am really trying to wean my cats off whiskers tinned food but it is prooving rather difficult and not sure what to try now.

I am on a budget but still want to give them something good so have read and re-read Hobs food thread, so i have tried them on butchers classic, bozita chunks, purley from P@H, natures menu and am now on smilla but all of these really haven't gone down well at all so the chickens end up with it.
Anyway what they do seem to love is the biscuits, they love the hills science plan and applaws biscuits but after reading about a biscuit only diet there is no way do i want that for them.

I have noticed they don't like the pate type food but alott of the good foods seem to be pate, i have tried mixing the whiskers with the good food but even this doesn't go down very well at all.

So can anyone advice on what to try next without breaking the bank, and no pate types food please

Thanks

Hi

You could try Top Life from Asda. It's similar to Bozita I believe and is £1.18 and come in a tetra pack.

Have you tried putting some of the biscuits they like under the food? I have to do this with my cat who has CRF, he can smell the biccies so eats the food in order to get to them.

Maybe you should try to go raw?

I've not come across any different flavours of TopLife but others may well have.

My cat, Oscar, tends to have something different every day, although if he does take a liking to something I will give him that until he won't touch it anymore

Put some of the biccies on the top as well just to get them to their bowls

Hope it works!

When you are weaning them are you mixing the Whiskas and the new food, slowly moving from 80/20 through to 20/80 over a few days ?
