Question Cat losing hair

Have noticed that my long haired boy is losing hair behind his ears and i think theres a patch on his belly, its not bold spots but really short hair and he has got really flakey skin, am gunna make him an appointment to see the vet on monday but just wondered if anyone had any ideas of what it coould be. Thank you

Have you used any flea treatment on him lately? May be an idea to treat him if you haven't. Have you changed your washing powder recently? He may have an allergy to that or anything you use on your floor or carpets.

What food does he eat? If you are feeding dry then suggest you look at some of the premium recommended foods on the sticky in the Nutrition Section. He may need something extra for his flakey dry skin. In the meantime you could perhaps see if he would eat something "oily" like(boneless) sardines once or twice a week.

Thank you for the reply and i think it might be flas as that where he is scratching and he had a clump of hair on his back foot from the same area so am gnna get some flea treatment and have not changed any thing like washing powder
