Re: Changing food
I would change one thing at a time keep with the purina changing over to the wet. Also if you are changing over to wet is there a reason why you have bought orijen? im confused do you want a mixed diet or a wet diet? what wet food are you feeding at the moment?

Re: Changing food
I guess I just ordered it because it is taking a while for them to make the transition from dry to wet and I felt guilty every time I fed them Purina, now that I know it's no good for them. So I thought maybe I could carry on giving them wet and dry mixed for as long as it takes for their tums to adjust but maybe with a better dry .... maybe me getting the orijen is just confusing things even more.

Re: Changing food
I would mix Orijen to the Purina One (starting with 25% Orijen in the first day and increasing the amount slowly after a couple of days if your kitty is doing well). In my opinion, once your cat will be used to Orijen (high in protein, low carb, no cereal) he will handle better wet food.
Just a question... do you actually mix wet and dry together? I'm asking that because the cattery I left my cat over holidays did that and she seemed to enjoy, but then it takes away the advantage of dry food (which is that it preserves better on the dish due to the lack of humidity, and for that reason, a good food to leave around just in case they get hungry in between meals). |
