I would not be allowing it at any time following renal failure, but then ultimately it is owners choice

Plus I am not of course pro routine vaccinating, but would urge any owner whose animal has had any renal problems to think long and hard about vaccinating again! My advice would be to talk to holistic vet

Anyway, best wishes to dog concerned and owner x

Re: Urine Specimin

If the vet needs a urine sample so badly then they cna take it straight form the cat which is painless and quick!

Tobacat is on a distinguished road
Re: Urine Specimin

As this isn't Molly's normal gravel or outside toilet, she may be refusing to use it as it's not what she's looking for. If she is holding on, she is probably quite uncomfortable and that could be why she's crying to get out and go as normal.

If the vet has a feel and her bladder and squeezes a little, she may wee on their table so this may be an option if someone has a pot at the ready.

This sounds scarier than it is, but they can actually stick a needle in the bladder and draw out urine. Not painful at all and it's over very quickly, it's more icky for us hoomans!

Or the vet can 'express' the bladder very easily if it is slightly full, allowing the urine to be trapped in a dish held underneath.
