There are lots of reasons IMO why I choose not to feed raw fish to my cats. I am sure your research will flag up the pros & cons but here, for everyone, is a brief summary:

Eight strikes against fishy feeding | cat nutrition blog
The thing with saying 'I wouldn't do so and so' or similar without giving a reason why is kinda pointless. You may be the most experienced cat owner in the world and therefore wouldn't need to justify or explain your choices to those that know you, but I don't know you at all, so without a reason for your choices, I'm just going to dismiss them at worst or as you to clarify at best. A waste of time for both you and me. Thanks for the link.

My research (and yeah, I got the dig ) has said that sardines are good to feed. And obviously (or maybe not) only as part of a balanced diet - i.e. no more than once a week and I would feed once a fortnight. I haven't researched any other fish because of the availability of information. There are many types of fish in Oman but sardines are the only ones I can identify for sure, well apart from the ones I wouldn't feed anyway - like tuna.

I tried the boys on chicken gizzards (chicken here is very good quality, no steroids or other nasty stuff, they're all pretty much free range - and yes, I've been to a chicken farm - an Omani friend owns one). I cut the chicken into small bits, checked there were no stones etc., smeared it with a little cat food and the boys ate it up with no problems. I've also started limiting how available their dry food is to them and I've started asking suppliers out here if they would consider stocking Applaws and/or Origin.

Oh they're amazing!

Can I just ask - would the furminator be the type of brush to use on my raggie kitten when she comes?

Welcome to the forum by the way!

Eroswoof, there are far better people here to ask about the Furminator than me I think its probably a question of trial and error, but as a Furminator is quite expensive, maybe you could see if a friend has one you could borrow before you invest in one. My slicker is really good at getting the hair out and detangling. I use the Furminator on their tummies and back legs and it seems to be reducing the amount of fur I find flying about all over, but the slicker definitely gets out everything else

I'm sure you'll do just fine! Try a slicker first. I use a soft pin one It works really well.
