HELP my kitten is sick...

hey i have a kitten, he's about 6 to 8 weeks old. about 3 days ago i picked him up to play with him and he seemed kinda limp, he was very lazy and wouldn't eat or drink. i also noticed he was meowing different kinda faint. about 30 mins after picking him up he started to vomit clear liquid that had bubbles on top, he did it 4 times every 30 mins. so i tryed giving him water and a little bit of gatorade. i took him to my girlfriends house and let him stay there, from the time he started throwin up he did nothing but sleep very deeply, the next day my girlfriend told me he was moving around and meowing alot and also urinated in the floor in random places. today i picked him up and he is walking funny with his back arched, he walks off of his back paws and he is no longer playful. someone please help me....

Re: HELP my kitten is sick...

I would seriously contact a vet asap, 6-8 weeks is very young to be away from mum anyway, i think 12 weeks is recommended plus its better to be safe than sorry at that age. Hope hes ok

Vet. Now!!!

Seriously, kittens can go downhill and die in an hour. I know. Mine did. They dehydrate very rapidly. I would call an emergency vet right now if I were you. It's free to call.

Re: HELP my kitten is sick...

Im sorry but all i can suggest is beg, pawn borrow what you can. He really needs a vet and no matter what advice people give you it would all be based on a guess and you could do more harm that good trying to self medicate.

Re: HELP my kitten is sick...

I live in the US too. It's still free to call a vet over here. Some vets will even let you make payments. There's not a whole lot you can do at home for your kitten. It sounds like he's really really sick and I'm not trying to be overly dramatic or scare you, but young kittens are extremely fragile.

We had 2 we took in last fall--our dog found them by the road where they'd been tossed on the side of the road. They both got sick over a weekend. The little girl seemed okay at bedtime--just some diarrhea, but at some point between 6am and 7am, she suddenly got much worse and couldn't even stand up. She died that night at the vet's, after they tried giving her intravenous fluids. Her brother was playing and climbing and was fine at bedtime, although he had loose stools. I was up ever hour with him and he was eating and drinking until 5am, but at 6 he had had a huge bought of diarrhea and couldn't walk, lost interest in eating and drinking and died in my hands at 6:30 before the vet opened.

Please call a vet. You don't want to lose him because you're broke.

Re: HELP my kitten is sick...

Vets is your only option. If you can't afford it, what about rescues? Some of them offer help with sick cats for a small donation.

Re: HELP my kitten is sick...

I cant believe you've waited this long to ask for advice and haven't considered taking him to a vet If you can't afford pets you really shouldn't be having them. Beg, borrow and go without yourself for a while - he's your responsibility and NEEDS urgent vet treatment. Do you not have charities like the PDSA in the USA that will help with urgent vets costs?
