I have one BSH - Lila; bred by our very own Aurelia. The others are a Turkish Van and 2 moggies.
Hobbs hadn't realised you had a Turkish Van! You mean a real *I can swim two lengths of the pool* Turkish Van!? Years ago relatives had one!

Re: FLUTD's/UTI's?

Another setback this evening. She pee'd on my bed again, there goes another duvet in the bin. Not sure if it's medical or behavioural this time. She's been on zylkene and the feliway is plugged in in my room since Monday. Hopefully the results will be back soon so I can get to the bottom of all this.

Oh dear, hate it that it's not gotten itself resolved I'm glad they're finally doing a urine culture though- it'll be such a relief to have some real information (hugs)

...out of curiosity- did they have you take a urine sample yourself from her litter box to send off for the culture or did they take it directly from her belly? I know when my vets were thinking of sending off for a urine culture they said I'd have to bring her in for a 'sterile' urine sample which meant her being sedated and a needle sample being taken directly from her bladder...I always remember you saying they were planning to send her litter box sample off for analysis and so when my vets said what they did about needing a sterile sample, it just made me curious...

Anyway, didn't like to hear that your girl had a set-back. It sounds like she's been better in general though (including her dipstick results). So even with the recent peeing mistake, it sounds hopefully good?

I know how horrible it is worrying though- we're sending you the best of wishes...

P.S: Ours had been displaying 'in-out' behaviour in the litter box plus excessive drinking for ages (a month a half) until recently...They put her on a second round of antibiotics (I know you've already been on two courses yourself) but they also put her on Cystease (a nutritional supplement) and she's been so much better since...I don't know if it was the cystease that helped, but she really is much improved...

Keep us updated and good thoughts being sent your way!

Re: FLUTD's/UTI's?

No peeing incidents since the last one. Results were back today and nothing showed up on them. Not sure where to go from here, it was the nurse I was talking to, she said she'd get the vet I deal with to give me a ring to talk to me.
