Hi folks
Our squeaky has lovely Ginger and white coat but has acne appearing under his chin which now looks grey and unpleasant. Any advice as how to solve this?. Last time I was at vet....for more serious complaint (knocked over by car)......he seemed uninterested in the grand scheme of things. He said all cats get it .....no worries. But I would like to solve squeaky's problem. Any advice gratefully received... Thx x |

Re: Cat acne
Buffie is of course correct!
Paddy tends to get gravy on his chin from slurping his wet food and had some acne issues a while back. I bought a really cheap, baby toothbrush and used a VERY weak solution of Hibiscrub to gently scrub the area clean for a few days. ![]() |

Re: Cat acne
Hi Pheebs! Is that the little lady in question on your avatar? Gorgeous!
I think it could be a similar issue....and maybe at 13 weeks she is not too good at her grooming regime! I would use a warm wet wash cloth to help her out, often this will stimulate the cat to carry on washing itself. ![]() |

Re: Cat acne
Thanks Buffie and Paddy.
Yes, that is my lovely girl in the avatar. She's a rescue kitten and I think she ended up at the shelter when she was around 4/5 weeks old (I've had her since 7 weeks old) so maybe she didn't get all the lessons about washing that she needed! She is amazingly good considering she hasn't had the best start in life. |
