A new experiment :)

Well, Ive taken the plunge and ordered some Nature's Instinct. I'm quite excited but my little madam's will probably turn their noses up at it!
With raw food, do you have to do the same mixing with the old food or could they dive straight in? I'm not cutting out the Schmusy completely - I was thinking one meal of each a day... if they like it that is

Re: A new experiment :)

I've just gone straight for it but then Mai Tai has a cast iron stomach I think and doesn't have any problems whatever I give her. She and Rosie have a varied diet of raw and pouches - it works well for us

Agree with Lynn, just go for it. Raw is less likely to cause any stomach upsets being "natural" and all.

Hope they like it- mine do

Re: A new experiment :)

Another thumbs up for NI here. For me, I like to feed it as 'fresh' as possible, so would suggest feeding it for both meals in the day so it is not sitting in the fridge too long. ( although it does seem to be fine for at least 2 days )

Re: A new experiment :)

I went over to their factory shop (it's not far from where I live) and bought some yesterday - that way I didn't have to pay shipping and I don't have to give up too much freezer space!

I defrosted the first pack for this evening's dinner and so far it's a big hit

Hmmm - They don't like it Going to give it another couple of days but if not I'll have 10 packs of the stuff all frozen if anyone in the Preston area wants to buy it off me at a knock down price...

Re: A new experiment :)

Sorry to hear they're not keen on it catzz You could try sprinkling some crushed biscuits over the top to tempt them to eat it

I would not give up yet. Keep offering it, they may come round to loving it.

Re: A new experiment :)

going to keep going for a bit. Gypsy went for it to start with but then went back to her normal food after a couple of licks. Kiera sniffed it and then did the covering thing which she tends to do when she doesn't like something. That surprised me because she normally mugs me for scraps of raw chicken or raw prawns. Should I perhaps take up their other food for a bit as well as sprinkling it with treats or whatever? Also, how long is it safe to leave raw food down for?

On the plus side, they've had immense fun playing with the polystyrene beads that come in the box
