I'm wondering what to give him to eat which will calm his tummy, I'm so confused! Obviously the plan will be to change him from Whiskas to a better food, but what should I do in the short term? He's due to go to the vet at the end of the week.
This is not something I'm too sure about, but you could try some boiled chicken and rice, but to be honest if he were my kitten I would be taking him to the vet today,to be checked out, kittens can go down hill very quickly.Hope he is feeling better soon.

Thanks, I'll see if I can get him in sooner but I'm not too hopeful! I've taken up his current food and am currently boiling up a small piece of chicken with a teaspoon or so of rice. I'll see how he gets on with that.

He's absolutely stunning, by the way!
Agree or indeed bacterial infection which I' would also like to rule out. The food could well be a contributory factor ( I would change diet as recommended before ) but other things need to be eliminated as well.

Re: Foul smelling faeces in 13 wk old kitten

Awww, I don't know the answers, but I just wanted to say it's lovely to hear of someone else with a Siberian kitten! Ours are 10 weeks old at the moment and are not home with us yet, but we're picking them up in a few weeks' time. We are getting two Siberians, a boy and a girl. Can't wait.

I hope his poos become less smelly! Where are the pics of him? I want to see! (My internet connection here isn't great and sometimes doesn't load pics so forgive me if I'm being blind!)

Bonnie, I'm sure you will love your kittens too. He's adorable other than this poo issue! I got a Siberian due to being allergic to other cats and so far so good - quite amazing really.

On the laptop, it's getting rather annoying now!

Re: Foul smelling faeces in 13 wk old kitten

Okay I think it must be an issue with my connection here as I can't see them - will look later tonight when I'm at home. Can't wait to see him. There is a pic of mine in my icon and also here: http://www.petforums.co.uk/gallery/s...ge.php?i=11932

Like you I am also allergic to cats but had no issues whatsoever when visiting the Siberian breeder's home! So exciting - I had never really heard much about Siberians before this year. I never thought I'd be able to have cats.

How bizarre that you can't see them. He's a blue tabby point with white Neva and is very affectionate. I had a mild reaction the first few days (I'm VERY allergic normally) and then we bought an air purifier (one from Argos, made by Vicks for £50) and since then I've had no problems. It's really quite amazing, I also never thought I would ever be able to have a cat so am very happy!
I've just been looking at your photos, they are beautiful. You must be so excited.
Thanks to everyone else, he really enjoyed his chicken and rice. He miaowed at me the whole time I was preparing it for him, only time will tell if it's done the trick but he's certainly breaking wind a lot less!

Re: Foul smelling faeces in 13 wk old kitten

He sounds gorgeous and I will look forward to seeing the pics later on.

I'm still a bit nervous about the allergies thing as I feel dreadful when I'm around cats usually, but felt fine when visiting the breeder the first time. The second visit I sneezed once or twice, but didn't get sore eyes (which is my least favourite symptom!) despite spending 2 hours there. Considering she had more than 10 cats in the house that was good.

I will look into the air purifier if necessary - thanks. Glad to hear your baby is less windy and I really hope the stinky poos stop.
