Yes, she's been wormed. I'm fairly certain it's not asthma (indeed, the vet heard her making the noise while she was there, because she was panicking so much) and he didn't mention asthma at all.
I've made a video of the noise she makes, you have to turn the volume up a way to hear it. It's only short but you get the idea:
