![]() ![]() ![]() Okay firstly I'll say it looks worse in the pictures then it is. What's happening is his eyes seeping a little bit in the corner you can see in the picture. When you see the liquid itself seeping it looks clear but it dries and then look like dry blood. He shows no sign of discomfort or distress and he opens the eye fine but obviously the constant 'tears' worry me. In November last year he was involved in an head on collision with something, not 100% sure what but presumably a car, which lead to his lower jaw breaking and he had it wired and it was all fixed by February but his eye had been like this since. Like I said it causes him no discomfort and he can see fine but I would just like to know what it is. |

It's been like this while he was at the vets getting his jaw fixed but the vet didn't say anything about this. I haven't taken him to the vets specifically about his eye though. |

Re: My cat's eye; What is this?
When tears come into contact with oxygen in the air they then turn red hence the staining. Nevertheless his eye souldn't be watering. Blocked tear duct springs to mind. These can be 'unblocked'!
I'd get vet to have a look! |

Re: My cat's eye; What is this?
This actually makes me feel so much better... I was worried it was blood or partially blood but that fact it's just tears makes me less worried.
