Re: Grooming Advice Needed

I've just tracked down a groomers that's about 15 mins away from where I live She's got many years experience and seems to have a good knowledge of persian cat coats. She's quoted £30-£50 and she also clips claws as well.

My old boy is indeed 18 (well next month he will be) and as you say hates being pulled about, I think the best thing for him is to be clipped and start again from scratch and try and rebuild his tolerance for grooming.

Tylah is on a distinguished road
Re: Grooming Advice Needed

Have you thought about a 'Tangle Teezers' that are sold on Amazon? Maybe if you got one of those for your cat, it wouldn't pull her fur as much and you might have an easier time.

£30 to £ 50 is about the average cost depending on how much work he needs, if he is badly matted and needs bathed with Detangle Shampoo's expect to pay towards the top end as this can be quite a time consuming process to bath and work the Matts.

Most good Groomers see shaving and cutting the Matts as a last resort and prefer to try and rescue the coat rather than take the easy route and simply shave it off.

Goodluck and hope she sorts your Cat out and gets him back on track for you
