What milk are you giving her? I suspect this is your problem, since a 5 week old kitten should be toileting on it's own without the need to be stimulated.

You should only ever feed a kitten replacement milk like cimicat and the like. Not human milk, or the cartons of milk aimed at providing a treat for cats and kittens. Neither of those is any good for a kitten, especially one so young. Cats are lactose intolerant as a rule.

She sounds very poorly and if I were you I would be calling around to find an out of hours emergency vet that can see her now, not later or tomorrow. Kittens can go down hill so quickly, hours and minutes matter. Right now she needs veterinary care, not to be reunited with her mum. If nothing else by returning her to her mum while she is poorly ... well, you could be making all the other kittens poorly as well if they aren't already. What a mess

Hope you get her the help she needs and she gets better. But I have to ask, why did you get a kitten aged 5 weeks?

Re: sick kitten

I am going to hazard a guess (looking at the timestamp on the first post and by the fact the op said it was 3am) that they are in the USA - probably West coast? With this in mind, I want to assume that seeing as it is now a more sociable hour for them, this little kitty is already at the vet.
Sadly I have to agree that this kitten was sold far too young, and that its chances sound quite slim. Who knows tho. Hopefully the op will update us.

Re: sick kitten

On a positive note - if I am right and they are in the US, then when the op said they were taking the kitty to the vet 'tomorrow' - actually they would have meant in about 5 hours or so. From our point of view, tomorrow was AGES away - so hopefully this wasn't the case..
