Re: Does this price sound right?

My senior cat with seizure disorder just had a dental. The dental procedure was $150 USD and included antibiotic, anesthesia, IV fluids and the cleaning. He only has a few teeth left, but they don't charge by the tooth.

The Estimate before the procedure was $250 USD, that was to cover things he might have needed such as extractions, x rays and pain meds, which he did not need this time, thankfully.

The blood work was not included because he gets blood work every 4 months, and had just had it, but I would not allow a cat of mine to go under anesthesia without blood work first, regardless of the procedure.

A blood profile that covers everything is currently $109 USD, which for a healthy cat who does not get blood work regularly would have put the dental full cost at $259 USD.

Re: Does this price sound right?

Twinkle had pretty much all of her teeth extracted (barr 3 of them) and we were charged £240 - that included antibiotics too as she had infected gums as well. Dental work is quite expensive but hers was very major!

Re: Does this price sound right?

It made me laugh when we told the first vets we wouldn't be using them as they were too expensive, they were shocked and said they didn't see how I'm sure £300 is just pocket money to them!
Our full bloodwork we had done there come to £120ish , the vet we are using for the dental said he does full bloodwork for senior cats for £35 We really missed out on that1!
