Aha! Shall query that should they get back to me. Though in the one reply I had yesterday it says that there are some products in their classic range that do not contain any colourants. So, if the label doesn't mention them, they ain't in there. So could well be that they have changed the fish one to be not coloured "naturally" or otherwise.

Oh well, fair enough. If they say there's no colourant in then we have to believe them. However, I have to say that when I have bought natural, uncoloured petfood it has not been the colour of Butchers with ocean fish!

Re: Caramel in cat food

Re. my posting on ingredients in Butcher's, it was based on removing one tin from the six pack ( game in jelly ) but, on opening the rest of the pack yesterday I discovered the other flavours (2xchicken and 2xbeef ) had the old label stating EC permitted colourants !I rang Butchers and the girl said she would e-mail information but no reply yet.

Re: Caramel in cat food

My cat has eaten Classic all the time we've had him (we got him as an adult). He seemed to love it - until now. He doesn't even acknowledge it's edible, let alone actually eat it. The labels have changed recently - coincidence no doubt but it coincides with Boris walking away from his favourite food.
