Here's a great site about early spay/neuter. Watching the movies it doesn't seem more complicated to spay a 7 weeks old female kitten than an adult.

Re: Neutering

I didnt say it wan an excuse not to do an operation, just said it wasnt as easy. I cant see any vet would refuse to do urgent surgery in any circumstances.

When I've had boys done at 5months and 1 week the Vet liked to check they were both there first. If she was unhappy she may have sent me away but I've had all my done at 5 months. The only person who tried to stop me was the receptionist! I told her I will book my cat in anyways and let the qualified Vet be the Judge and not her!
Haha, exactly. I think she did speak to the vet....who knows me well anyway, thats when she aid can you bring them Monday, lol.

Well the usual lady was'nt on the desk, so I explained all this to her. "Ok", she said, "when do you want" ? I said "as soon as possible next week please". he said "ok i''ll look". Then said "well i'll make one nearer to them being 6 months".....I said "no I would like them done now". "Oh", she said again "it should be 6 months". I said "well sorry but quite a lot of breeders do them before they are 13 weeks, so it can't be a problem". "Oh", she said, "well Monday then"!.

My question is.....have any of you had similar problems, when trying to get your cats neutered before 6 months ?
I'll be honest I thought it was six months. My first kittens male and female 14 may be 15 years ago now the vet told me they could do it a five and a half months and did.

The two males I have now the vets were prepare to neuter at 4 months, by 3 months the vet said they are big enough now but 3 months is too early. I waited until now 5 and a half months. I wasn't worried about unwanted kitten, just dominance issue arising.
