Re: Changing a kitten onto Adult food

Applaws is excellent, but the adult varieties are not a complete diet, so you'd either need to add appropriate supplements, or feed a complete food as well. HiLife is good, as is Natures Menu, or even Whiskas oh so fishy/meaty is reasonably good. Look for foods with protein content of at least 10% and meat content of over 50%. (you'll soon realise there aren't too many like this, all the leading brands have unneccessary added vegetable protein!) Alternatively, consider a raw diet. There are people on this group who can advise on that.

Re: Changing a kitten onto Adult food

Natures menu he will not touch (unfortunately), he does have whiskers kitten pouches now and again which he does eat but with meat content of 4% i am not so keen!! (got some pouches free) Have not tried the high life will see what he thinks, once he is onto adult food that opens up a lot more choice than just kitten. I am leaving his biscuits, natures best down all the time he only has wet morning and evening.

Has anyone tried the Tesco Luxury looks good with minimum 50% meat (plus on offer atm!!)

Yes, the Tescos Luxury and Finest pouches are good with a high meat / fish content. I woulnd't worry too much about letting him have adult varieties now - "kitten food" isn't strictly necessary.

Re: Changing a kitten onto Adult food

I fed my cats bozita cat food cartons for a while (available from zooplus) it is alot more cost effective than the foods you are looking at, and it is about 90% meat.
