My kittens go round eating the adults food and as it's down 24/7 you can't stop them. It's never done them any harm. Plus mine have raw meats which is fine for any age
Wendy, I'm thinking of giving my 2 raw chicken drumsticks/wings.. how often do you give them to your cats?

I think your cats are about the same age as mine, and I must say, I have not found getting them to eat the chicken easy, twiglet (who is only 16 weeks old) has had no problem. But out of my older 3 (all 10 months old) only one of them eats the raw meat properly.
I started with chicken breast (chopped) and then moved onto thighs / drumsticks / wings, but I wonder if it might have been better to start off with the drumsticks chopped up and just gradually made the pieces bigger. The reason I say this, is because they seem to have got a taste for the breast and wont change over.

Just as another hint, Murray loves tuna, so i drizzled tuna juice on his, worked a treat! I just gradually reduced the amount of tuna on his chicken. He is the only one of my older ones that will eat any raw I put down, including the bone - which is really important.

Yeh my 2 are quite funny with their food, they like the Aplaws chicken oh and roast chicken but that upsets Alfie's tummy

So not sure how the raw chicken drums will go down.. was mainly thinking of it as a good way to clean their teeth and maybe gradually start giving them more raw meats

Yeah the bone is the best way to keep their teeth clean, and I think if you can get them to eat it, they will prob love you for it eventually, its just I think most cats are scared to try new things.
Its just you might find yourself throwing away alot of meat to start with, oh and don't bother with a dish... it will be dragged out of it, try with a feeding mat instead, and try to keep them on a floor that can be disinfected. Mine are fed on the tiles in the kitchen.
The sooner you start the better, as they are still fairly young, AJ is really good with advice on this type of thing, he is very into the raw feeding.

This is why I feed on a mat and on a washable floor, but salmonela can exist in all food (including cooked), just makes sure you wipe things over with disinfectant.

Hahaha, I feed mine in one room on the laminate floor, lol. That way when they're done I can wipe it all.
