Alfie's tummy.. again!

Well, again he's got diarriah! There is no blood or mucous, orreally offensive smell, just cow pat poo!

I really dont know what to do, I am keeping a very close eye on him to make sure he's not being quiet or under the weather (he's still bouncing around wrestling Lola)

My OH gave him some Roast chicken last week which seems to of set it off..

I obviously will take him to the Vet if it doesnt get any better but last time it sorted it self out (all I got from the Vet was a £25 bill for the consultation where I was just advised to put Alfie on the Science Plan food, erm no!)

So before I have to take him to the Vet again, can any one suggest what to feed him to try and firm up his poo.. I've been leaving JWB Kitten Turkey & Rice kibble out all day and giving him white fish morning and evening.

I could do with all the advice I can get!

Re: Alfie's tummy.. again!

No not really Wendy, his tummy has been dodgey since I got him (he had quite bad worms )

I am yet to find a food for him where his digestive system is pretty consistent. I have to keep but bathing his as he gets poo all in his fur!

I have him on the JWB at the moment which seem to say they are good for sensitive tummies.. but obviously not working!

I'll have a look into that other stuff you've mentioned, cheers Lyn

Roast chicken seems to upset a lot of cats and dogs, I think its a bit rich. If they like chicken then its better to boil it. If you add some honey to the water you boil it in, it gives the chicken a sort of roasty smell and makes it more appealing to them.

Re: Alfie's tummy.. again!

Aww, bless him, the only thing I could suggest, but I guess it would be expensive is to have food allergy tests done. Just a thought, have you tried raw. 2 different breeder friends of mine have cats with exactly the same problems as Alfie and they both decided to try raw and it's work on them, you'd never know they had such bad tummy problems now It's hard to begin with but well worth it
