Okay thanks, I will try that. I wonder if they all might have a bit of a bug or something at the moment as they all seem to be off their food at the moment (normal and raw).

Also Roxy, (who I don't think really ate anything yesterday) was sick a bit this morning, and not the normal undigested cat food type sick either, so I think she may have a bit of an upset tummy.
Murray has had the runs a bit too yesterday and as he has not eaten any raw yet, I don't think it has anything to do with the change in diet.

I might have a bit more luck when they get over whatever they have got.

Re: Raw Fed Help!

I feed my cats raw, I would start as you mean to go on but start slowly, introduce one new food at a time. It took me an age to get mine to be happy with raw but they love it now and it's very satisfying to see them munching on real meat. We had more than a couple of failed attempts at switching but we got there eventually.

Beef heart has one of the highest taurine contents so should be a regular part of their diet. I feed mainly dark muscle meat (skin on and including bones) and organ meat from chicken and turkey and beef and lamb, hearts and organs. They also get some beef, lamb and pork muscle meat and treats like tuna and various other fish. They also get whole eggs mixed into their meat once a week. And of course they go out and catch their own birds etc.

Can I ask, do you have a tame butcher? Where do you get the meat from? Especially beef hearts? Could I get those from a butcher?

Tame butcher?

I get the majority of meat from the butchers, which is easy but quite expensive for the cats and a pain in the butt but cheap for the dogs. A lot of butchers have caught on and are making the most of BARF/RAW feeders by making their own raw dog food but I want actual bones and actual meat so I had to shop around for a bit to find a good butchers, I now get all the meaty bones for the dogs free. I was paying pennies for carcasses and bones from a wholesale butchers but they were very unreliable so I only go to them now and again to stock up on chicken carcasses for the dogs. Everything I feed I can get from the butchers but I must admit to taking advantage of the offers at Tesco as well.

Re: Raw Fed Help!

Well I'm afraid I'm am haveing to take a pause on the raw meat diet at the moment, not only do my cats seem to have a bit of a sickness bug, so I was trying to settle that first, you will also see from my thread in the cat chat section that my boy Smudge was knocked down by a car last night, so I just need to make sure he is eating properly and getting better at the moment.
