Question Worming very young kittens

Someone i knows cat has had kittens and they are about 1 week old. some of them have one or both eyes open allready.

I went to see them today and it was quite clear that they have worms.

When is the best time to worm them and what with?

I have aleady gave the owner numbers.... to get mummy cat spayed once the kittens are weaned.

Mummy cat was upto date on her worming treatment.

I have herd mixed things about panacure paste.

Would milbemax be more suitable for a lactating queen?

I really feel this is a question that only a vet can answer. All the over the counter stuffs I know of are for 4 weeks and older. Nothing for 1 week old kittens.

Re: Worming very young kittens

Can anybody recomend anything for them now?

I stated to her that she should phone the vets, not sure if she did though!

I haven't seen the kittens since i last posted and atthe moment i am talking through my OH, it is his sister that has the kittens.

Re: Worming very young kittens

hi

I use panacur soloution for kittens from 2 weeks on, however now they are coming up to the 4 week milestone maybe their owner would have greater success with the paste?

Re: Worming very young kittens

I also used panacur solution at 2 weeks... sorry I can't be of more help.

I thought their eyes wouldn't open for 2 weeks but all had one eye open at one week old and Casper has both eyes open

How much would you give the kittens.

Think i'll just buy one/two? online to make sure they get the correct stuff.

Re: Worming very young kittens

Would it be better to get this one
Panacur S A 5g Syringe for Cats & Dogs
Panacur S A 5g Syringe for Cats & Dogs - From £3.18

Or this one?

Panacur 2.5% x 100ml Liquid for Cats & Dogs - From £5.52

Think the kittens won't weigh enough for this one to be used on them.
